Vox Valvetronix Amp AD60VTX and Cover - $349

Vox Valvetronix AD60VTX Amp in very good condition with Vox Amp Cover $349
Purchase both the amp and the VC-12 pedal that I have listed separately for only $425

This is the highly sought after original Vox Valvetronix "Blue Series" amp that recreates and models amps - everything from Fenders to Marshalls to Dumbles to Mesa to Soldano to Vox (of course). Unlike the newer, less sophisticated versions, this amp also had stomp box and effects models for the Tube Screamer, ProCo Rat, Dallas Arbiter Treble Booster (used by Brian May and Rory Gallagher), Vox Wah, Uni-Vibe, Rotary speaker, chorus, flanger, phaser, tremelo, echo and delays, reverb and more. Yet, with all these features it is probably the most direct and simple modeling amp to use. The controls are all laid out and easy to understand. It uses a 12AX7 tube in the amp section to give you real tube amp sounds and it really works. Just like a tube amp, when you turn this amp up, it sounds superb. Rear controls include an effects loop, emulated direct out, headphone out, external speaker out, and a power attenuator to switch the output power from 1 watt to 60 watts. It has an advanced Neodog speaker for lightweight and powerful performance.

If you visit Vox forums, you'll find a very dedicated group of musicians who swear that Vox has never made a better modeling amp than these. This amp is in very good condition. I has a few dings in the tolex but nothing that effects the performance of the amp. About 2 years ago the amp was serviced by Freedom Guitars (one of the only official Vox service center in SD) and tuned up. (You can see their yellow service sticker on the back panel). Here's a link to the archived info on Vox's site where you can get all the details on this amp.
http://www.voxamps.com/us/archive/blue-series/

I am also selling the VC-12 pedal that truly taps into the potential of this amp. See my ad for that. It is for sale for $150. If you buy the amp and VC-12, I will sell the package for only $425. That's $74 off. The pedals sell quickly so if you want that package, inquire quickly. (I have sold my 2 other VC-12 pedals and the 120 watt version of this amp and the pedals sold in only 2 days.) The pedal is in good shape, comes with the carry case and has 2 original Vox cables with Neutrix connectors - those are also hard to find now.

This includes the Vox amp cover. Those are no longer made. The cover alone is worth $50.

I take CASH ONLY and no bills larger than $20. Thanks.

Vox VC-12 Valvetronix Pedal - $150

Vox VC-12 Valvetronix and Tonelab Pedal - $150

If you own a Vox AD60 or AD120 series Valvetronix amp, this is a must have pedal. This is in very good condition. It has a few scratches on it but that has no effect on the operation. Very little time actually used as this has been a back up for me for some time. It comes with the carrying case and 2 Original Equipment Neutrix cables (and any CAT5 standard computer cable works with this). These cable are hard to find with the pedals now. I don’t have the original instructions but I have them printed out for you. They are available on-line as well. I also have a rare printed booklet showing a diagram of all the additional 48 presets. You don't have to try to figure them out on your own. That's worth the price of the pedal alone (!).

These hold 4 entirely separate memory sets of 32 patches each. What most people don’t know is that this pedal comes from Vox with 3 banks of 16 patches that are NOT on the amp for a total of 48 unique settings. You can exchange the patches back and forth to the amp (and you have one free bank to store your own patches into). This gives an amazing array of sounds that you can only get by having the pedal. Many of the used VC-12 pedals have had these patches over written but this one is exactly to factory spec.

This also fully controls the Vox Tonelab desktop modeler. If you own one of those, you can turn it into a gigging unit just by using the pedal.
These sell for $279 new and you don't have to pay tax or to ship this large and heavy item. (I owned 2 Valvetronix amps and sold my extra VC-12 last month. This pedal is for the AD60VTX pictured with it and that amp is also for sale. If you are interested in both, see the package deal offered in the ad for the amp). Cash only, no bills over $20, please.

Testimonials
I've been a self taught drummer for 23 years. I was frustrated that my left hand was never as strong as my right and felt like I was missing out on some fundamentals that would take my drumming to the next level. After the very first lesson with Gregg my playing changed for the better. Teaching me to drum in alignment with the drum set ergonomically shocked me how much better my technique became. I'd been on a slow rising plateau and now it feels like I'm scaling Mt. Everest. Gregg is a very positive, warm, informative and encouraging instructor. His professional experience gives him the credibility of a top teacher.

Jason Lewis

I came to Gregg thinking that I already knew how to play drums. Boy was I wrong! By the second lesson I realized that there was another entire world of drumming that I didn’t even know existed. By the fourth lesson, every song I heard on the radio or TV suddenly took on a whole new dimension. My drumming has developed a groove and rich texture I only dreamed of before. Gregg is a great teacher; always positive, always encouraging. He never lets me rest on my laurels, building on what I’ve just learned and showing me an array of possibilities. His manner is modest and unassuming. One would be hard pressed to know that he is, and has been for a long time, a genuine ‘rock star’. This has been the best investment I have made in my drumming since I bought my first pair of sticks!

Bill Lascurain

Gregg Gerson's enthusiasm for music is infectious. I hold his philosophical approach to music as invaluable as his musical prowess which extends from it. He has enjoyed an extensive relationship with music and his graceful sustain has inspired me to pursue my own musical goals with similar dedication. This lesson has been of the most worth to me: the degree of a master¡¯s ardor for teaching is only met by the willingness of a student to learn. With that said, Gregg will take any drummer, young and old, and usher them to their goals as long as they are willing to do the work."

Christian Scott

I just wanted to express my appreciation and gratitude for Gregg Gerson. Gregg is the best drum instructor I have ever had, due to his high level of professionalism. He does not only instruct others, but he consistently applies his methods on stage. I started with Gregg just a few months ago as an average intermediate drummer. But through these lessons that I have had with him, it has changed my entire way of thinking. Now I am able to apply the linear method, which is essentially moving effortlessly over the drum set. His methods have vastly improved every area of my playing. I have even been able to apply these methods to many areas of my life. Now when my band lights up the stage at many of the top clubs in LA, it is Gregg that I have to thank for our success! So if you are looking to become the drummer you have always dreamed of, look no further than Gregg Gerson.

Ryan Dunn

Working with Gregg has been a great experience. He has profound knowledge and skill in drumming and music in general. He understands groove, touch, and feel and strives to instill it in you. Being around him I get a sense of his unwavering work ethic, and after every lesson I am inspired. He looks at your playing style as an individual and gives you exercises that help break down your barriers. He teaches to focus and relax while you play, not just technical ability. But he gives you exercises that invoke technical ability and promote agile learning. The melodic style that Gregg teaches is by far the coolest style of drumming. Instead of just keeping the beat you are learning to sing with your kit!

I cannot believe the improvement I have made since I began working with Gregg. I would recommend Gregg to drummers of all abilities."

Glendon Romett

Since becoming a student of Gregg Gerson, my dexterity, stamina and focus has improved many times over previous methods of instruction I have attempted.  Gregg’s “Applied Drumming and the Linear Method” encompasses all the attributes of his experiences and condenses lessons into an easy to comprehend and apply mental and physical process which develops mind and hand coordination, enabling a student to launch right into a fantastic drumming experience.  I would recommend Gregg to anyone whether they have minimal experience or are experienced but need a master’s finesse in the art of drumming.  Gregg’s musical knowledge is absolutely fascinating.

Rob Gordon

Hey Y'all,

Just wanted to give some praise for Gregg Gerson. Since I have been playing with Gregg, I have gained much needed confidence behind my drums. I am able to play with my band and have the precision and dexterity that is necessary to compilate some killer tunes, as well as have tons of fun since my drumming horizon has been broadened by Mr. Gerson. My timing has tightened, by riffs have expanded, and my fills sound super. This guy's the man, and if you are serious about your musical quest, he is your man.

Greyson Goody

You CAN be a better, funkier, more musical drummer than you've ever imagined; the key is taking lessons from Gregg. After my FIRST session with Gregg, my playing was completely transformed: my bandmates were blown away the very next time we rehearsed. As a teacher, Gregg's the perfect combination of Zen master and no-nonsense New Yorker. He'll help you develop your unique voice on the drums and get you playing with more confidence in virtually no time.

Chuck Vadun

I am so grateful to have met Gregg. Not only is he an outstanding person, he is an unbelievable professional drummer. I have worked with Gregg for about two months, I've had eight lessons and it's making an impressive difference. He is teaching me how to "break out of the box." To achieve this he has taught me various poly-rhythms, working on odd time grooves and the extremely important triplet feel. I also have learned various rudiments overlaid by double bass patterns, which are very fun to play and sound very impressive.  His guidance in what to practice is going to save me a lot of wasted time. Over all my timing is better, my left hand is stronger, I'm seeing new ways to improve old patterns and my fills are becoming extremely more dynamic. I absolutely recommend Gregg to any drummer who really wants to become more and break through their current thresholds.

Ryan Donnelly

Gregg Gerson and his applied drumming technique is by far the most compelling teaching style to date. His knowledge and philosophy on music and drums is amazing. Not only does Gregg show you how to unlock boundaries only limited to how hard you work, he teaches real time, real life techniques and education that can be used immediately no matter what your playing style.

Gregg is so musically enhanced he can observe and mechanically break down your individual style and show you how to become the best player you can be through various exercises and playing techniques. The methods of Gregg's applied drumming has taken my playing level and musicality further in a few months than years of other education I have been involved with.

He has shown me practice methods for power and stamina, introduced me to exercises to help me play "outside the box" and with plenty of "grease". He has taught me how to push my mind and ability to develop the skills necessary to play great drums. He is enthusiastic about teaching and wants you to learn. That displays a lot about his character which translates into his incredible ability to rip on the drum kit and many other musical instruments he plays very well. This gives such an advantage to students like myself who challenge themselves to find greatness. Gregg is the outlet. His knowledge is undeniable greatness for which I'm fortunate to learn from. Aside from also being down to earth and very cool, Gregg's personality and willingness to help you understand make him the perfect instructor. I'm lucky to be taught by such a talented musician and I'm honored to also call him a friend.

Noby McArthur

When I started working with Gregg, I discovered that not only is he a cool cat and a phenomenal drummer, he is a real teacher. These days it is rare to find an instructor that has true passion for working with students, and Gregg is certainly gifted in this respect.

Since starting with Gregg not even two months ago, my entire approach to the drum kit has changed. He has demonstrated how playing the drum set is an art form, and should be approached with style & grace regardless of how simple or complex of a beat you end up playing. I feel like I have much greater command over things that were big weaknesses for me before: how my hands and feet work together to create a well-balanced and coordinated groove, note placement and duration, good form and breathing, speed and agility, and even the abstract, such as putting heart behind the music that I play at all times. Plus even though we have only known each other for a short time, he has showed the utmost confidence in me and he got me to throw out any reservations I had about my playing within the first week. I think that every aspiring drummer should be fortunate enough to not only see great drummers, but get to converse with one about techniques and approaches, work with one on their specific strengths and weaknesses, and have one around to motivate them to do their very best and make the most progress possible given their abilities and their goals.

Gregg Gerson is that drummer for anyone who wants to do their own thing but not sacrifice the value of a great education along the way. There's no reason to try to be a square peg in a round hole when there's a guy out there who is willing to see you for who you are and work with what you've got so that you can be helped to reach your own dreams.

Christina Sousa

I have been playing the drums since I was 15, I am 32 now. I have been working with Gregg now for 6 months and have decided he is a perfect drum instructor. The first lesson Gregg quickly zoned in on my weak spots, and focused on changing my approach to drumming. With a very orthogonal approach he quickly changed weak spots in my abilities. He found ways to use applied techniques with familiar music to entice re-incorporating rudiments, making them enjoyable to revisit.

Gregg is an excellent teacher/mentor; I would recommend him to the drummer with his first pair of sticks/mallets, to the seasoned professional, that wants an additional approach to improving styles and techniques.
