Time to sell my nice unmodified, all original, and extremely well cared for 1998 Ford F150 XLT 4x4 Step Side with the 5.4 liter v8

Clean and clear title, in my name, current registration, recently smogged.

Less than 1000 miles since I had the transmission completely rebuilt, all OEM FORD parts at AAMCO on Morena blvd. Have a warranty and all documentation on everything!

Recent oil change, all fluids flushed in trans, transfer case, differential, receipts on all this too.

Includes bed extender, metal tool box, collapsible ladder rack, chrome step rails, and chrome bed rails

I have received a lot of calls and emails with questions, and regarding mileage. The truck has 140k miles, but please don't let that scare you. I have used this truck solely for towing my boat (a 24' Calabria wakeboard boat). I have spared no expensive keeping it maintained and in good shape because it was used on long trips. Been out to havasu and the CO river tons of times. When going on trips, I can't risk anything happening, so I have made sure it was in good condition. Things have failed due to high mileage, which is typical, and I have replaced and repaired them all. The transmission went out about 1000 miles ago. This is pretty impressive, especially for the 4x4 transmissions which don't usually last > 100k miles. It had always been maintained with regular maintenance, so it had a long life. I had it completely rebuilt with all OEM Ford parts at AAMCO right down the street from me on Morena. Spent $4000 on the trans rebuild alone. Since it was my towing/vacation truck, I had everything gone through, all fluids flushed , spark plugs replaced, it has a brand new alternator, a new heavy duty battery (i have had to jump my boat before, so needed a great battery), replaced air filter. All fluids in the truck were completely flushed (engine flushed too to remove carbon deposits), rear diff, front transfer case too. The front xfer case and driveshaft were rebuilt and replaced respectively at the time the trans was rebuilt. I didn't mess around with anything that could affect the reliability of this truck. AC works perfectly too. The only reason I am selling it is because I bought a new 2009 F150 that can tow 10,500lbs because I'm planning on getting a toy hauler for desert toys. This 98 has no problem towing my 6000lb boat. Just wanted to clarify and give some more information for anyone that was interested. This is an awesome truck. Extended cab! It is lifted with 325/65 tires. They're pretty big. 18 inch chrome wheels. 4x4 works great. It is a 5.9 liter, short bed, four doors, black interior. 94,xxx miles. Runs great, oil and oil filter changed at 94,000 miles. Brand new serpentine belt. The lift is 4 or 6 inch, I'm not sure. The interior is in pretty good condition. The windshield has a sunburst crack where the rear view mirror got broke. Dual exhaust. Chrome door handles and trim on doors. -THE GOOD-
Runs great! I installed a new Optima battery about a year ago and it works great. There was an issue with the ignition switch (turns out to be very common in these cars) which caused me a lot of headaches, but after many trips to the shop and a lot of $$, I finally got it fixed about 4 months ago and haven't had a single starting issue since. Nice after market CD player. Sirius radio is hooked up and it's all wired for an amp and subs. My amp in the back fried, so I sold the subs, but the wiring is still ready for hook-up! Rear tinted windows. Regualr maintenance, just got it smogged and it's registered through next August.

-THE BAD-
There is a dent in the hood from the back of a hard-shell Rav-4 wheel cover that backed into me in a parking lot. (they were going pretty fast considering it was in a parking lot) There was no structural damage, just a good dip in the front of the hood. I priced out some replacement hoods at $300.00 online (you can buy them off of other cars in the same color that have rear damage for cheap) if you or someone you know is car savvy at all, it's an easy swap, I just never got around to it. The trunk cover for the spare tire is bent down the middle. It could be fixed with a piece of plywood, but it bends into the spare tire well now.

It's been a great car, I've had it since I drove it off the lot! I would keep it, but I'm moving to the mountains in Colorado and I need a 4x4!
